Ah the Sandpipers. I remember learning and singing "Guantanamera" in school after it became a hit for that group. I think "Come Saturday Morning" came out a few years later, but I don't remember for sure. Didn't this song come from a movie? I don't remember much about this song other than having heard it a lot, but I haven't heard it much in recent decades if at all. It's a pleasant song to listen to.
Lovely!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Donna - it is a sweet song to go with my loving elephants.

Tossing It Out
Hi Lee,
DeleteThe Sterile Cuckoo (1969), released in the UK as "Pookie". Pookie was the name of the character played by Liza Manelli.
It is a very decades old at that! Glad you enjoyed it.

Okay, I remember that now. In fact The Sterile Cuckoo was on TCM just a few months ago. 1969 was the year I graduated from high school.

Lee, I saw in the 1980's. I don't remember much about the movie, but I enjoyed the song. I wasn't driving in 1969.
