Help ~ I'm going coastal

22"h  x 28"w

This is a photo of a painting I did for a couple in Germany. For me it's harder to photograph them than it is to paint them. Acrylic on canvas, called, "The Abandoned Boat."

I'm in a coastal mood. I'm craving sand, sea, salt air, cotton candy, and seagulls. (Sigh) Might as well play a tune ~

    1. Thanks, Michael.
I always felt it was incomplete - missing something, but the couple loved it. They bought it on the spot... took it home... Germany? Who knew?

I often wished I'd painted a seagull riding on the side. (smile)

    2. I'm no artist, so I'm not sure if that would help or not :P

    3. I wasn't sure either - so there's no seagull. :))

  2. I think that is a beautiful painting! Love it. You're inspiring me to do more seascapes (don't you love them?).

    Well done! :-)

    1. Thanks, Cherdo. I do love seascapes, but have an interest in so many places.

I have one of an Alaskan lake, I did for a lady... on a 8"h x 6" w canvas - her choice, not mine. The photo is awful because I'm lousy at that part (grin - sigh). the painting is pretty wild, considering the small size.

Sorry - I'm rambling. Would love to see your work!!

  3. I didn't mean to abandon the boat. I just stopped to see if the local villagers had any rum. They did. And then I forgot where I left the boat. It's as simple as that.

    1. (What?) What - rum? Where was I? I like rum! Nevermind the boat, what happened to the run?

  4. What's this? You're an artist! Did I already know this and somehow forgot? Probably. I'm so forgetful at times it's shameful, but honestly your painting is really nice. The German couple will like it.

    1. Hi Cathy!

On the other blog I've used several paintings with their stories. On here, I was just goofing off. Your BOTB prompted a memory or two. I think I said that earlier on the previous post.

I'm behind right now on my consignments. I'd love a week at the beach to paint and watch people. I enjoy going down to the shore and sketching early morning... like 5 a.m.!! Leave later and go paint what I sketched. I hate hauling all the paint because of the sand - I'm a slob at keeping the sand off of everything, hahaha. Thank you (smile).
