Welcome back for the results! I was completely surprised by the outcome. It took almost three days to get a vote for Little Hurricane. (By then, the real hurricane, 'Joaquin' was producing ten-hour long rain-spells, periods of strong wind, and a colder temperature, in my city. I soon became distracted from this battle.) I don't know that 'Joaquin' had any influence here, but on my return there were a lot of votes for Little Hurricane. They swept the battle.
I enjoyed both cover versions of Aerosmith's 'I Don't Want to Miss a Thing.' Little Hurricane's video sound quality was below par but that happens. Something about their cover reminded me of ''early years' music. I think John Holton called it, "The British Invasion." I voted for Little Hurricane.
Reggae and I have our moments - but not with this song. The more I listened to it, the more I realized I wouldn't be listening to it as much as the other cover.
I would like to thank everyone for taking time to listen and vote!
Thanks again, to our event hosts:

And ~ today... for all the Aerosmith fans~ I'm playing their original! Hang on (smile).
I didn't pick the winner, but that's all right.
ReplyDeleteAlex, your vote surprised me. Thanks for participating!!!
ReplyDeleteWow, I didn't pick the winner this time either.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting the original song. I need to start doing this. When I hear the covers of these songs, I long to hear the original.
Hi Jeffrey. I posted the original soundtrack/trailer on the Battle. I'm pretty sure this cut comes from their album, recorded later.
ReplyDeleteSometimes playing the original messes with the two covers presented. Glad you came by. SEE you next battle.

I picked winners in most of this round of BOTB contests including yours. I must be getting mainstream.

Lee, My average is mostly 50/50 when it comes to choosing winners on other contests.Given my lack of knowledge, I find that profound :) I doubt I understand, 'mainstream.'
DeleteThank you for voting, and commenting (again) on the Result's post!
Smile.

Hurray for Little Hurricane! They were my choice as well. At least this was a fairly close battle.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Debbie! My only regret is not having a better quality video for them. The sound was lacking in clarity. I'm okay with a 12 - 7 finish.
DeleteHey, I picked a correct one! Call the news media! Let's get this info on the wire...
ReplyDeleteHugs to you, Dixie!!
Shoot, I'll put it on a T-shirt for you:

ReplyDeleteThis doesn't really sound like the (Hard Rock) Aerosmith I know.
Good Battle, even though I wound up supporting the loser. A 5-vote victory ain't no blowout.
See ya on the 15th. I'm glad we worked out that deal, because I'm now looking forward to the Battle I'm gonna use for Halloween.

Maybe that's why this song is the only Aerosmith song I like. Then they came out with 'Jaded,' which surprised me, when I liked it too.
This seems like one of my 'less vibrant' battles. Oh well.
Good luck on the 15th! I've decided to use a battle leftover from last year, that didn't get used. That means you can have the other too.

Oh, YAY for Little Hurricane! Their version was really, really good, and I'm glad other people thought the same. Like you say, reggae has its moments, and I actually liked this version, but... yep, Little Hurricane stole the show :) GREAT battle!

Guilie, I'm all smiles now. Just when I thought this might have been a bust all along... thank you for the compliments (smile).
