First off... a special thank you to the HOST of this musical blog hop!
What happened? Who won?
Lionel recorded this original in 1987 with Alabama. Twenty-five years later, in 2012, Lionel recorded it with Little Big Town! I had a lot of fun with this battle. Of course, either way, Lionel is the big winner. For a few days the two were tied at four apiece. Then it seems the "lightness" of the second, and most recent recording moved ahead quickly! And I mean quickly and over! My vote went to Lionel with Alabama but it was a "done deal,' as they say.
Which band shares the praise for the day?
Lionel Richie with Little Big Town @ 8 votes
Lionel Richie with Alabama @ 6 votes
CONGRATULATIONS LITTLE BIG TOWN!
Thank you to everyone who stopped by, voted, and left a comment!

It was close! Good battle:)
ReplyDeleteCloser than I expected. I thought LBT had days ago, thanks Robin!
DeleteLittle Big Town didn't win by too big of a margin, did they? That was my choice! Looking forward to next time around.
ReplyDeleteThey carried a 4 point lead until Stephen voted... then my vote and well, I'm surprised but pleasantly!! Thanks, Cathy
DeleteI think that's who I voted for...
ReplyDeleteHi Alex - this what I had down for you, but if you'd like to change your vote - it's no problem:

Lionel versus Lionel - tough one. But as I am not country music fan, my vote goes to the version with Alabama. The other one was too twangy."
Either way, Little Big Town still takes it(smile).
Both versions were good
ReplyDeleteHi Mike - did you get a chance to vote? I may have posted this a bit early...
DeleteI liked both.
Not my vote, but I appreciate your posting on the 21st. See you on the 1st.
ReplyDeleteMe either, but I'm glad you voted, and very glad to hear you'll be "battle ready" on the 1st! (Wasn't sure if I posted too early or not - thanks for that.)
DeleteNot surprised, even though I still love the original better!
ReplyDeleteI was happy when it stayed tied... better chance of my choice winning - not to be. LOL
DeleteDixie-I started BOTB. I was simply having a bad moment. I'm not about let let sething I've been at for this long go so easy.
ReplyDeleteGood for you! I'm happy to hear that. Thank you so much for letting me.
ReplyDeleteGood evening to you(smile).
That was a close one! I was on the winning side so that makes me feel okay.

Tossing It Out
Yes you were, Lee, and thank you so much. They were tied 2 days, I think, then 4 more for LBT, then 2 last votes for Alabama. I almost figured it was lost when it stayed tied... big surprise.
